CPSC eFiling is mandatory now: what changed July 8, 2026

On July 8, 2026, CPSC's eFiling rule went from pilot to mandatory. If you import regulated consumer products as the importer of record, the certificate data must be filed electronically before CBP releases the shipment.

The detail that bites: no de minimis exemption. The $800 shortcut that covered direct-to-consumer parcels does not apply to eFiling. A $40 toy shipment needs the same certificate data as a container.

Brokers can file for you, but they can only file what you give them. Garbage certificate data in, held cargo out.
